Combined Heat and Power

Boosting CHP plant value with integrated eFuel production

Adding eFuel production to Combined Heat and Power (CHP) operations, can significantly reduce carbon emissions, optimize energy efficiency, and diversify revenue streams.

CHP plants already excel at maximizing energy efficiency through cogeneration, simultaneously producing electricity and thermal energy. By repurposing excess heat and utilizing it to produce eFuel, such as eMethanol, CHP plants can further minimize waste and maximize overall efficiency.

In parallell, eFuel production enables carbon capture and utilization. Instead of releasing CO2 into the atmosphere, it is combined with green hydrogen and converted into eFuel through a methanol synthesis process. This not only reduces carbon footprints but also aligns with circular economy principles, minimizing environmental impact.

Additionally, eFuel presents an opportunity to diversify revenue streams. The sale of eFuel can provide a supplementary source of income for CHP operations, increasing financial stability and resilience in the face of market fluctuations.
