Tuya has strong experience in combining finance and sustainability. She enjoys supporting purpose driven organisations to achieve their mission by setting out their financial and investment strategies and ensuring their effective implementation.

The passionate team combined with a tangible opportunity to mitigate climate change, inspired Tuya to become Liquid Wind’s Head of Finance in 2019.

What inspired you to join Liquid Wind?

I met Claes Fredriksson, Liquid Wind’s CEO and Founder, in spring 2019. He spoke of an opportunity to upcycle carbon dioxide emissions to make something valuable out of it – carbon neutral eMethanol. I had never heard of electro-fuels before and could not believe my ears. It sounded so simple and an obvious solution to mitigate climate change. After meeting the inspiring team of passionate experts, I joined Liquid Wind in September 2019.

What experience do you bring to the Liquid Wind Team?

Finance and sustainability are my core focus areas. As an emerging company with an innovative approach, Liquid Wind provides exciting opportunities to utilise and strengthen my Finance and Business capabilities, whilst making an impact to reduce global CO2 emissions. I also bring valuable practical experience to the team. I have over 10 years experience supporting multicultural and cross-functional teams from various industries; including e-commerce, retail, steel trading, mining, the United Nations and other Non-Governmental organisations. My academic background consists of a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management and a Master of Science in Environmental and Sustainable Business.

How would you describe your work as Liquid Wind’s Head of Finance?

Varied! I am faced with new challenges and exciting opportunities every day. In project managing finance and related questions, I may be involved with investor meetings, financial budgeting and planning, to managing daily accounting.

My main focus is on ensuring financial stability for Liquid Wind AB, that we have the funds we need to continue our work. Currently, this means securing the funds for Basic Engineering to reach financial close for our first eMethanol facility. I am now finalising the Due Diligence process with several investors to close the Series A funding round. We may have limited availability to accept a few angel investors for this round, so if anyone is interested, they can find out more on our website or email me.

Why are investors interested in Liquid Wind?

The investors that support Liquid Wind really see the value and importance of supporting sustainable projects. They see that there is potential for high returns, but they also believe in our mission to enable a carbon neutral future.

Awareness and interest in alternative fuels and eFuels or power-to-x is growing, which is attracting more and more interest to our project. It is really rewarding to talk to people who are passionate about sustainability and / or the technology we are working with. I share our plans and progress with them, and explain how Liquid Wind together with our Consortium will ensure our visions become a reality.
