Thomas Nilsson, Sales and Financing Director for Liquid Wind

Thomas Nilsson enjoys using his extensive experience within the power and renewable energy business to scale access to carbon neutral fuel. He is currently deeply focused on reaching financial close for the first commercial-scale eMethanol facility.

What excites you about working with Liquid Wind?

For my entire life, I have been advocating a long-term approach to both my private life and professional career. I have been working with the power and renewable energy business for over 20 years and working with Liquid Wind really felt like a rewarding and challenging next step. I thrive as I am able to use my experience and knowledge to contribute to the plans and growth of Liquid Wind.

My goal and focus now is to take the first facility to financial close and production.

What experience do you bring to the Liquid Wind Team?

I have long-term experience from the Nordic wind power industry, where I have been working with Power Purchase Agreements and project financing. I will use this experience to implement a similar structure for our Flagship facilities. This is a valuable and proven way to finance and scale projects.

I also have an extensive network of contacts in the renewable space, which will be really valuable for identifying possible infrastructure investors to invest in Flagship Projects.

What is your main focus at Liquid Wind?

My role is to sell Flagship facilities to long term investors. In order to do this, we need to structure facilities as a complete and attractive bankable investment objects. Currently I am very focused on FlagshipONE, but in doing so we are also planning our pipeline for subsequent Facilities.

We now have two potential partners for land and CO2 supply, we will continue discussions with these parties and identify our first site for FlagshipONE. The next step is to turn the interest from potential eMethanol buyers into a signed agreement.

I am also working on a Blockchain structure, that will ensure we can track and prove the sustainability of eMethanol. This will be really valuable in creating trust in the sustainability of the fuel as well as supporting distribution through the value chain. I can share more details about this and the set-up soon.

Why should people get in touch with you?

There are lots of reasons! If they are interested in investing in an eMethanol facility or being a partner to an eMethanol facility, such as a supplier of biogenic CO2 or a buyer of renewable fuel. It would be great to discuss how we could work together.
